With Air Pollution On the Rise, Researchers Sound Alarms

In a new paper, Carnegie Mellon researchers Karen Clay and Nicholas Muller estimated that a rise in fine particulate matter, or PM2.5, has led to 9,700 premature deaths in the United States in the last two years. The Trump administration alone cannot be blamed, but it is also unlikely to address the problem.
